My Latest Halloween Card

Halloween is my second favorite holiday of the year (after Christmas, of course).  Just ask my husband and kids.  I like the spooky/creepy Halloween decorations, not the cutsie stuff.  Now that it’s just my husband and I, our decorations have dwindled a bit, but we’re still the most decorated house on our cul-de-sac.

Very few Halloween cards are spooky or creepy, so I would say my card fits in the cutsie Halloween category.  I saw the Impression Obsessions web background stamp and just had to have it.  Here’s how I used it…

This is an A2 top folding card with a light gray card base.  I stamped my web background with Versamark ink on black card stock and heat embossed it using Zing Silver Metallic embossing powder.  I mounted the web background on orange card stock.  Using my Silhouette Cameo, I cut out the Hero Arts spider image 3 times in black card stock and stacked them together.  I also cut out a mat for the spider in purple card stock since I knew that I was adhering it to a black background.  My greeting is from the My Minds Eye Happy Halloween stamp set.  It is heat embossed on velum using Recollections Black Embossing Powder and wrapped around the orange mat.  I thought the black spider looked a little dull, so using an embossing pen, I heat embossed some dots with clear embossing powder.  I used silver embroidery floss for the hanging web strand.  Happy Halloween!!!
